Dazai Osamu, is a renowned Japanese author who wrote the novel No Longer Human. The novel is a depiction of a man who, after being disfigured and losing a leg in the war, is unable to find work and is ostracized by society.
In Osamu Dazai’s book, “No Longer Human”, he toggles between his past and present struggles. He was born in Kanagawa prefecture, Japan, had a rough childhood, and a “lazy” personality.
Dazai lived in the idea that humanity was purely a mask-something that people falsely put on to gain some sense of normalcy and that it was fake.
