About Michael Corleone

Who is Michael Corleone? Michael Corleone is a fictional character in The Godfather, book, and film. Michael is the youngest son of Vito Corleone, head of the Corleone family Mafia business.

Michael is a major figure in the first two books in Francis Ford Coppola’s film series. In the film, he is played by Al Pacino. He is portrayed as an Italian-American mobster and the protagonist of the film. Michael’s father, Vito Corleone, is the Don of the Corleone crime family.

Michael’s older brother, Sonny Corleone, is greatly admired by their father. However, Sonny is eventually killed and Michael becomes heir apparent to the Mafia throne. Michael later succeeds his father as Don, becoming the leader of the crime family.

Michael Corleone is the protagonist in Mario Puzo’s novel The Godfather. As the youngest son of Vito Corleone, Michael is the heir to both his father’s criminal organization and the family’s Sicilian roots.
